Efficiency use case

Digital Fuel Logging

Real-time, automated fuel consumption capture across trucks and machinery, with anomaly detection on every transaction.

The problem

What this use case is built to solve

Most mines still log fuel on paper cards at the bowser. Cards get lost, handwriting drifts, dates get wrong, and end-of-shift reconciliation is unreliable.

How it works

The mechanism

At the bowser the operator opens Mineoptic Fuel and captures three photographs — truck number plate, truck odometer, bowser meter. The app tags each with device timestamp, geolocates the bowser, and uploads when signal returns. Offline-first means dead-zone bowsers work the same as live ones.

Module: Mineoptic Fuel (Lite)

What it captures

The data points

  • Truck identity (number plate)
  • Truck odometer reading
  • Bowser meter reading
  • Capture timestamp + GPS
  • Sync timestamp for offline events
Outcomes

What changes for the operation

  • Eliminates paper cards entirely
  • Fuel reconciliation variance drops sharply
  • Fuel-per-tonne becomes a trusted KPI
  • No end-of-shift transcription
