Efficiency use case

Buckets Count per Truck Load

Computer vision that measures excavator bucket loads per truck in real time, exposing true payload and cycle efficiency.

The problem

What this use case is built to solve

Excavator productivity is judged on trip counts and average cycle time — numbers that hide the truth. Nobody hand-counts buckets, so the planner cannot size the tipper fleet per excavator.

How it works

The mechanism

A camera at each excavator watches its swing-and-dump motion. A model trained on bucket cycles counts every drop into a tipper, measures time per bucket and total load time per truck, and ties each event back to the specific excavator and operator.

Module: Mineoptic Visual (Lite)

What it captures

The data points

  • Buckets per truck count
  • Load time per bucket
  • Total load time per truck
  • Reconciled tonnes vs weighbridge
Outcomes

What changes for the operation

  • Tipper fleet sizing calculable per excavator
  • True payload quality per crew
  • Bucket-level operator performance
  • Hands-off operation
